Looking for PQ Fine Alterations?
We have the perfect tailor for your alterations
PQ Fine Alterations has always been our sister, and we recently united to offer you better service with faster turnarounds for complex clothing alterations.
That means there is always a tailor on hand to help you here, no matter what style issue you are facing. And not just for suit and bridal alterations – we now have a complete team of master tailors, right down to leather specialists.

Keeping it in the family
PQ Fashions was started by Ping Yu in 1999 and grew into two studios: PQ Fine Alterations run by her niece Jo, and The Fitting Room on Edward run by her daughter Clare.
The tailors from PQ Fine Alterations are masters of dress and bridal alterations, working with designer brands including Louis Vuitton, Burberry and Babushka Ballerina. At The Fitting Room on Edward, our suit and menswear specialists became so well known that we alter more than 20,000 suits per year.
Now these specialists work together in one studio, giving you a single destination for premium clothing alterations in Brisbane.
Why we merged our studios
Our tailors have always worked collaboratively across the two studios, but we decided to bring the teams together to offer better service.
Why? In the wake of COVID-19, fashion consumption slowed right down. Yet both of our studios continued to welcome new clients investing in meaningful pieces that will outlive seasonal trends. This only strengthened our belief that alterations are the future of slower fashion.
With the fashion mindset changing and gender-neutral fashion becoming more prominent, it felt like the right time to reimagine how we do things.
This makes us Brisbane City’s most sophisticated destination for alterations and garment repairs. Now we can continue to improve our service timeframes, and add new skills to our teams that were not possible while running the studios individually.

Are you a PQ Fine Alterations client?
The only difference is where you take your clothes to be altered now. You’ll still meet with Sheena, and the tailors who previously worked on your garments are all still here too.
Even better, they’re now working as part of a bigger team to ensure we get your pieces just right every time. (Want to meet that team? Follow us right this way…).
