Invisible mending
Best for knits, suits and cashmere
We have two specialist invisible mending tailors practicing this delicate craft for pulled knits, small holes and burns. Yumi learned her skills in Japan and has 30+ years of experience mending suit fabrics, while Ping specialises in repairs for wool and cashmere. They carefully weave fibres back into the fabric to make your pieces look like new.
Preventative maintenance

Pants wearing out in the crotch area is a common problem for both men and women. No matter how expensive your pants are, this will happen if you move around a lot in your clothes. But there is a simple fix: a silk saddle sewn into the crotch of your trousers will make them last longer and prevent the need for repairs. We recommend this for suit trousers and slim-fit pants.
Darning and repairs
Best for denim, silk and cotton
When a door knob tears open a pocket or a rip appears in your silk dress, we can fix it – even if you think the garment can’t be rescued. Our darning and repairs techniques stop a rip from getting worse, and the area is reinforced to make it stronger than before. “I thought it was completely ruined.”
My beautiful wool Max Mara coat had gotten a few large moth holes a couple of years ago around the front of the jacket. I had them hard darned originally to stop the hole getting bigger, but they were still visible. I thought it was completely ruined. I recently heard about invisible mending, but thought it might be too expensive.
I enquired here anyway and was actually surprised with how reasonably priced it was! Just picked up my coat today (was in for about a week) and it looks so good, I’m very happy with it and can’t wait to wear it for the rest of the winter season. Highly recommend!

People often bring in garments they think cannot be mended, but cannot bear to part with. And they are always surprised by what is possible! We can do anything from darning holes in denim to fixing ripped pockets and patching up moth holes in a wool jacket.
So in short, if you can wear it, we can probably mend it. Contact us to discuss your particular garment. If we cannot fix it, we will be sure to break the news gently.
The best way to find out if we can mend your garment is to email us a photo of the damage. We will be able to let you know if it can be mended and the cost of repairs. This will save you from coming into the studio.
If you do not live near the Brisbane CBD, you can then post your garments to us – we have had pieces sent from as far as Western Australia and Singapore!
The timeframe depends on what you need done. Visible mending typically takes 5–7 days and invisible mending takes up to 10 days. When we assess your garment, we will advise you on the timeframe.
Yes, we can do basic mending such as ripped seams, buttons and broken zippers while you wait. On more than one occasion we’ve had clients wait in the change room while we quickly repaired their ripped pants (and restored their dignity).
For mending, you can simply walk in and our fitting stylists will be able to assist you immediately.

Darning is an affordable mending technique where a piece of fabric is patched under a rip to stabilise the area. We then stitch over the rip to make the repair.
The result is visible, but very strong, and our tailors are skilled at making their work as discreet as possible. Rips in the crotch, along pockets, near seams and under cuffs can be fixed with darning, as they’re not visible areas. We recommend invisible mending for rips in the front of a jacket, the elbow area, or front of the knee.
